This is a \"My Service Record\" for Darrell E. Piper (Pittsfield, MI), who enlisted Aug. 12 1940 and served throughout WWII with The 1st Regiment, First Marine Division. Fought at Guadalcanal at Teneyau River, Bloody Ridge and Matanchow. Also was in Tsingtao, China, 1945-46 occupation, with the First Marine Division. Included is an envelope with seven negatives, (approx. 4 1/4\" x 2 1/2\" in size) from Hua Kuang Tsingtao, China. found laid into the service record. The book has some condition problems with discoloration on covers, some missing blue material on back cover, some tares on inside pages, mostly on outer page margins. Book is clean inside and binding is still tight. Scarce original WWII item.
