Blue piping, infantry. Dark OD EM wool, lined in orangish rayon, leather sweatband with full ID on it, research turned up the fact this man was a POW camp guard in WWII at Camp Polk, LA. He was born in 1908 (!) and enlisted in1943. Quite old for the service. I estimate the size at 7 1/8, it is 10.5" long. There are the tiny two holes at the piping line as shown, like a metal-stake price tag was there. Light toning to the piping at front where it would have been touched taking on and off. Have not tried to clean.
As shown, original.
