Gas mask with cannister

US Army WW2

Vintage

No bag.

A piece at the mouth is missing; my dad removed it when he found us playing with it as kids. (I'm guessing a check valve. It is now easy to breath while wearing.)

The rubber face remains pliable and clean - no deterioration of the rubber. The straps stretch.

My father was drafted into the US Army in

1941 (inducted October 1941). This was his. He remained active duty until 1950+-, and in the reserves until 1963+- (retired as a Major). He was career DoD (Pentagon 1950 - 1975), eventually SES. In retirement, he attended seminary, was ordained,  and volunteered as a chaplain's assistant at Bethesda Navy Hospital (now WRNMMC).

Other items to follow soon,  including enlisted dress uniform, Ike jacket, billed cap, and shirts.
