A group of 200 letters from a soldier to his mother and father between 1943 and 1945. Plus, 12 VMail letters, 2 greeting cards, and 3 plain postcards, one of which is a change of address. The majority of the mail is from his station in Louisiana. There are some from Florida. And there seems to be about 7 air mail letters on which he wrote “France”.
We did not read through more than 20 of these. They did not offer many significant events, just sort of commenting to his parents about letters he received from them. It still seems historically significant that these were saved together all these years. Every bit of the history is meaningful.
Condition varies. Envelopes have some soil and are all torn open. Letters we read are in nice condition. Most of the paper is plain, but some have military design.
