Field cap- A fake?
Hi,
I saw this field cap, which is dated 1964. It is heavily worn and looks pretty good to me. Is it ok? What do you think? |

Marv,
If genuine, that is a model from the 1920's. Marc |

Re: Field cap- A fake?
Heavily abused. The visor looks like one from 60's, just made totally flat (to mimic spade-shaped one?). Differs from officer field caps from the 60's, but could be OK. The stamps look weird. Maybe a film prop?

Re: Field cap- A fake?
If, as Marc suggests, it is indeed a cap from the 1920's, it would appear to be festooned with a cap star from the 1950's. . .

Guys,
How often have you seen vents on the side of 1960's caps? That feature was abandonned before the war! Marc |

Re: Field cap- A fake?
That's why a film prop was my suggestion. Because apart from that, the cap has the elements typical rather for later caps.

Re: Field cap- A fake?
So you think it's a 50s or 60s cap converted into a 20s cap to use it as a film prop?

Well, whatever it is, there remain too many doubts to my way of thinking.

Re: Field cap- A fake?
Hi
the ventilation grommets appear on caps models 1928 . No external wear , very worn interior , star postwar , plastic strap similar to officers caps Mod 58 . I would like to to see the construction underneath the headband inside because for the moment it is totally incoherent for me ? Last edited by Bagration; 03-03-2013 at 08:51 AM. |

Hello,
The cap is original. Star has simply changed. |
