He got burned in his armoured vehicle on January 10, 1942 during an encounter with the enemy while he was carrying out a reconnaissance mission. On December 26, 1942 he was severely wounded during the defense of Stalingrad when an enemy house in the Krasnyi Oktyabr area was demolished. For valor, courage and bravery displayed during the defense of the motherland I nominate comrade Kuznetsov for the Medal for Bravery. Citation for his second "Bravery Medal"
Short, concrete description of the personal combat feat or merits: During the offensive fighting in East Prussia comrade Kuznetsov showed himself a brave and responsive defender of the socialist motherland who knows his job well. _____ located with the division’s chief of staff, he carried out all of his orders in time. Several times he and his vehicle found themselves under fire, but he didn’t abandon his vehicle and skilfully withdrew it from under fire. During the offensive comrade Kuznetsov delivered captured gasoline when there wasn’t enough fuel. During the entire offensive his vehicle didn’t suffer a single failure or breakdown. For displayed courage and bravery, for conscientiously carrying out his duties and for his alertness I nominate comrade Kuznetsov for the Medal for Bravery. Chief of staff Colonel [signed] /Kizimirov/ May 21, 1945 I award the Bravery Medal.
