Orden "Playa Girón".

The Marshal and Hero of the Soviet Union Víctor Kulikov received the Orden "Playa Girón" for his contribution to the fortification of the friendship between the towns and Armed Forces of both countries.
The distinction was conferred to him by the Council of State, on request of the Cuban minister of Defense, Raul Castro on his 85th birthday.

The cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was the first Soviet citizen who received the order Playa Girón on the 26th July, 1961, in Havana.

The Order “Playa Girón” Created by Law Nº 949, of July 18, 1961, will be awarded to Cuban and foreign citizens and Chiefs of State or Government who extraordinarily excel in the struggle against imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, fascism and any other exploitation form; by valuable contributions to the development of the armed forces and their defensive capacity; for great feats on behalf of peace and mankind progress, as well as for the defence of our homeland and the Revolution´s conquests.

It is a gilt (lightly so) medal of a surprising 51 mm. No number or anything else.
