Re: Medal "For Motherhood" 1st Class.
There were actually two more variations produced after this one. One quite rare variation where the coat of arms is replaced with "For Motherhood" which is misspelled quickly followed by the correctly spelt variation. It is unclear if the PRB issued the misspelled version or just held them back in case of emergency. You never know when good communist Bulgarian women are going to spontaneously birth 8 children.

Re: Medal "For Motherhood".
Here is the Type 3 with the new less "imperial" ribbon. The change probably dating from around 1978, whilst attempting to fall more in line with Soviet styles.
Stop press! How come I've never noticed she had a bap out until now???

Here is Type 4. The "Perestrojka" period issue. The coat of arms replaced with the Medal's name.

Re: Medal "For Motherhood".
Here is a rather late document (rarely was this Medal awarded in the 1980's) from 22nd July 1982 awarded to Vanja Asenova Georgieva of Pleven.
