Jubilee Badge For Longtivity In Mining Industry.

This jubilee decoration was instituted on November 13th, 1954.
It was conferred in three grades (gilt, silver and bronze) for 50, 35 and 25 years of continuous work in mining industry.
The decoration is worn on the right side of the chest.

The badge is either gilt, silver or bronze with a diameter of 32.5 mm , showing a miner at work and with the inscription ODZNAKA ZA DLUGOLETNIA PRACE W GORNICTWIE (decoration for long work in mining industry) and the number 50, 35 or 25 respectively, between two small stars.
the reverse is plain.

The suspension is 28 x 7 mm, in the same color as the medal, with two crossed hammers superimposed on it.

These are the three classes of the mining badge in actual size. The 50-year gold badge seems so heavily plated that the medal details are washed out. Maybe someone has a better explanation because, for cost reasons, gold plating is usually not applied very thick.

that is indeed a good point. The quality of the details in the middle medalion doesn't seem that great to start of with. The Gold plating wouldn't need to be that thick to wash out the smaller details.
As you can see on this larger than life 25 year bronze version the details don't stand out a lot.
