Sebastien: Thank you for the response.
Doug: I appreciate your points. The thing that's puzzling, however, is why someone would have invested the time and effort to design a "composite" high-end uniform (with the expectation of unloading it as such) and then missed something as obvious as the anchor's facing direction? Seems like a lot of trouble to have not walked the final mile and do it right (from a faking standpoint)... I guess further proof really rests in a hands-on examination to detect differences not only in cloth/fabric but also stitching at the suspect "joints." Regards, slava1stclass |

uniform
The uniform could be for theatre, film or just a copy. I agree though, nothing beats a hands on inspection.

Anchors the wrong way
It could have been that the 'assembler' of the tunic had a picture of Kuznetsov wearing a like tunic and the negative was reversed and as such had the anchors pointing the wrong direction. Just a thought but might explain what happened. Thanks Clete

Clete,
Your theory serves to reinforce my point that this wasn't a sophisticated bunch. Regards, slava1stclass |

thats a waste of time because the job isn't ugly; not as beautiful as the pics seen in Doug's book or in RKKA's website, but still a lot of hours spent on it. And th e cloth is surely from a genuine base as Doug said it, a very thick and dense whool.
