I think its probably just postwar rather than an outright copy of a WWII cap.

Looks like a postwar cap--can you tell us what the visor is made of? That should shed some light on the subject.

This looks to be made from compressed fibreboard or cardboard which was the norm on post-war caps. These were in evidence up until the mid 1970s.

I think so as well--the "spade" shape of the visor was the norm for most post-war caps, if I remember...
