Soviet uniforms -- for comment
Having somewhat naively "French-kissed a chainsaw" by posting some new Soviet uniforms in other fora -- gah! --those sectarian people can be worse than medal collectors!! -- I am rather reluctant to do this again, certainly not before sharing them here among the less-feral folk here.
I am a novice in uniforms (but all of these came from one who I consider a wise source) and would very much appreciate any and all comments. Images made s-m-a-l-l for forum requiments -- ask me for larger. 1- Major General of Tanks M1940 Last edited by medals73; 11-10-2007 at 08:22 PM. |

5- Cadet, Suvorov Military School
As these boys were 14-17, it doesn't quite fit on the mannikin. And the boards and collar. What is "Mн", it isn't on the lists I have. And (this surprises me not at all) I can't locate anything of use at Ñóâîðîâñêîå âîåííîå ó÷èëèùå or elsewhere. Maybe: Минское суворовское военное училище / Minsk суворовское military school / Minsk Library military school?? It seems -- Ñóâîðîâñêîå âîåííîå ó÷èëèùå - Ìèíñêîå ñóâîðîâñêîå âîåííîå ó÷èëèùå -- to have been founded only in 1953? The tunic seems to be marked for 1968. (Should I post this?) A difficult photo to take, as this teanager -- like others I have known of his age -- was not an intimate lover of soap and warm water. |

And finally (for now):
8- The weird and wonderful (?), a very small Redneck southern Georgian flyboy Komroty (With some nice "decoration spoor" -- great for MY interests!) Nice, greenish, almost-corduroy, with mixed hammer-and-plough (collar) and plain (elsewhere) buttons. Other details (including internal stamps, many of them Georgian) can be posted on request. Mainly, I just seek HELP and ADVICE!?!??! Thanks! :thumbsup Last edited by CtahhR; 02-27-2014 at 06:40 PM. |

collection
The RCW ones came from a very well known forum member who had a HUGE RCW collection, so maybe he can share if ever found out much about them. I am not sure there is much more to add though, RCW stuff is so oddball...interesting, but never two identical items! As for the non RCW items, the general is the nicest (well, maybe the commissar), but the others are not bad.
I know that Georgian can be tough, but i think there is an american forum member that spent time there and I assume can read it? I just forget who it is! Anyone know who i am talking about? DougD Moderator |
