Re: Priced Out...
Turning back to the original post by Doc about been priced out ... Well, I am still doing some recovery after four years of college payments, so my collecting budget is modest at best, but I do not consider myself priced out. I am actively buying Orders of Glory 3rd class and some other less expensive awards. Anxiously avaiting the research I have ordered. Collecting continues!

Re: Priced Out...
Got priced out a long time ago. Seems some russians think that have things worth 200 dollars and they keep relisting it and it never sells.

Re: Priced Out...
I've become almost exclusively an ORS/BM/CSM man with the occasional OG3 and wartime OPW2 (often with broken enamel) thrown in the lot. I've got a few other fairly expensive odds and ends, but I stick with the military basics these days because I can still afford them and find them. Research is the "long pole in the tent" now because it often costs nearly as much (and with BMs and CSMs quite a more than) the cost of the award itself. It also takes a really, really, really, really, really long time to get back if you don't have a doc and name.

Re: State of the hobby.
Fakes, and good ones too, being one of the outright sad sides of this hobby, finding reputable dealers is very important. What d'yall think about ***** (internet based dealer, straight buys, no auctions)? It seems very professional, but the prices are a tad high, with postage too... They have an Bodgan Khmelnitsky 1st class for 140,000 $.
