Hello,
last week i got this Order of the Red Star for around 20 USD. Photos form auction was a bit blurry but i decide to take a risk.
Theara are scratches on the serial number, but i think its easy to recognise number. As i want to order research, could you let me know your opinion about s/n

I think it would be 312 764

I agree, it appears to be #312764, and obtained at a very favorable price.

thank you very much for your opinion. Price was quite atractive due to the scratches and blury photos. It will be researched:) Any chance for Kursk?

You're welcome, and as far as Kursk, I simply do not know, however, here are some of data points which would suggest fall, 1943.

-#333394 Awarded late 1943, no research available.

-#329859 Awarded October 19th to 26th, 1943, no research available.

-#311597 Awarded October 6th, 1943 to Private Ucha Chichikovich Gelovani, Driver of the Commander of the 414th Rifle Division.

-#304335 Awarded September 10th, 1943 to Captain Ivan Semyonovich Nedobezhkin, Assistant Chief of the Smersh Counterintelligence Section of the 18th Tank Corps, 5th Guards Tank Army, 2nd Ukrainian Front.

-#302122 Awarded September 28th, 1943 to Captain-Engineer Vasily Andreyevich Engovatov, Senior Aircraft Technician with the Aircraft Engine Repair Team of the 823rd Mobile Field Aircraft Workshop, 2nd Air Army.

Serial numbers can be good pointers but sometimes you get some really strange anomalies. I have a "For Bravery" for Stalingrad in the 87k range and also 1.8m range (not a catch up) and just this week it turned out one of my 682k "For Combat Merits" is also for Stalingrad - not numbers in ranges that would suggest Stalingrad at all. Research is always the solution. An offer I can provide.

Order of the Red Star 352 150 - Awarder October 10th, 1943
for "Rumiancev" operation (August 10-21th, 1943).
