S20...Up for a Buy Now sale is a 10 inch Military Issue M1 Garand Bayonet/Knife with Scabbard. This bayonet/knife would have been issued out in 1945 at the end of WW2. The knife was made by Union Fork and Hoe Co. Thy took their US Military Proof mark off and put a number on the hilt above the handle. This was done to export the knife to Italy in 1945 for issue to the Italian Military. If you take the grips of the knife you will see the mold makers numbers on the inside. A tall tale sigh US Made. "The same as US Military Issue" The Scabbard is the same way. The scabbard was made in the USA in 1945. The metal keeper was not stamped with the US Military Proof mark as the scabbard was issued to Italian Military in 1945. The Italians Painted the scabbard and added their belt hanger. The set is used and shows ware from use. There is ware on the knife and scabbard The knife was packed in grease so there may be some in the corners and in the scabbard. The knife and scabbard have a nice tight lock up into each other. I feel that these knife and scabbards were not used much as thy are in good condition. The scabbards belt hanger shows ware from 75 years . There is some rust on the rivets and the canvas shows ware. But it is 75 years old so it should. It tells you this is a REAL Original WW2 1940's era knife and scabbard. The knife will attached to the end of your M1 Garand.
