Plain cover:

Issued on July 8, 1952 to Bondarenko, Petr Venediktovich, Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Bielarus, and certifies that he has a registered Walther 7.65 No 791720.

I would just like to point out a very small but significant detail regarding police/militsia history and this document.

The document says, in the printed text, that it is for the Moscow militia section of the MVD. It is dated 194_. Its printing must date from 1946 or later since the NKVD became the MVD in 1946. However, around 1948 or so, I can't find the exact date right now, the Militisia were transferred from the MVD to the MGB. And low and behold, the stamp used on this doc in 1952 says Militsia of the MGB on it! Later, in March 1953 the Militsia and the whole MGB where re-integrated into the MVD.
