Note on the side
Just a little comment on this slight bending of the rules. To some extent this applys to other nations armies as well. I was "allowed" to wear a Royal Tank Regiment Badge with a Kings crown in silver. This was because my father and uncle were both in the Royal Tank Regiment. The Badge was in fact my fathers who served in the tanks just after the war.
