Medal of Friendship data
Good Evening to ALL,
Here are some data for on the medal in my collection: Weight of medal and hanger: 50g, +-1.0g Weight of medal: 38g, +-1.0g Distance of hanger from the top center point to the bottom of the connecting ring: 29.89mm, +-0.03mm Upper width of hanger: 34.51mm, +-0.03mm Lower width of hanger: 34.93mm,+-0.03mm Outer diameter of connecting ring: 4.50mm, +-0.03mm Distance between the 10&2 o'clock star arms: 48.00mm, +-0.03mm Diameter of circular medallion: 30.38mm, +-0.03mm Thickness of medal: 4.40mm, +-0.03mm Thickness of just the circular medallion: 1.90mm to 2.05mm Circular medallion uses 3 tiny studs to attached the 10 points star. There are some residue of "adhesive"? on the back of the circular medallion. The medal itself is gold in color, but I am not sure it is color of the base metal. I do not know what is the base metal. The back of the medal and the hanger is plated/painted(?) with a silver colored substance. I do not think that it is silver plated. What ever it is, it is very thinly applied. You can see it has been worn through the center reverse. The base metal on the back is silver in color. I am not sure if the white and blue enamel on the circular medallion is glass enamel or colored epoxy stuff, but it is quite hard. Dat |
