Medal "In Memory Of The Russian-Japanese War 1904-1905".

Hi guys

I don´t know this medal, and this is not soviet.......probably Mongolian ?Maybe I should put in another topic of the forum.....please if the moterators want transfer to the correct section.

Here In Brazil the seller on E-... wants 100,00 US$, this guy is probably crazy, and the description is :

"Russian medal of the war against Japan and China " HAHAHAHA

Hello Cleber,

it is a russian tsarist medal for the war against Japan in the year 1904-1905 in the far east of russia. The price seems a little bit to high. I think it is normaly around 50 USD.

The war started at the 8. February 1904 with an japanese attack on Port Arthur. At 5. September 1905 Russia accepted peace and lost the region around Port Arthur and Sachalin peninsula.

There was also the famous see battle 1905, where the russians lost their fleet after a journey from 18.000 miles. The fleet "sail" from the Baltic see around half world (Europe, Afrika, India...) to the Pacific into war against Japan.

It is commonly faked, so without better pictures, I would advise extreme caution.

Another specimen..this is most likely authentic but in very poor shape.
