Engineer-Sapper Troops Qualification Badge.

Here is the Bronze Engineer-Sapper Qualification Badge. Awarded to specialist troops in the Tsarist Bulgarian Army trained in Military construction, demolition, signalling, intelligence, etc. Judging by the winged wheel this could have been awarded to Railway Troops as well.

This specialist qualification was somewhat parallel to the Construction Troops Qualification. The Construction Troops were founded 14th June 1920 as an "unarmed" labour force of the Ministry Of Internal Affairs (Which was disbanded in 2000).

This Qualification was awarded to those serving under the Ministry Of War in the Army.

There were at least higher Silver and Gold Class Badges.

Here are what I believe to be the entire Pontoon Unit of the Bulgarian Army of the late 1930's (less the higher officers).

The only dressed soldier seems to be wearing an example of the Badge.

There will be more on the pontoon unit of the Bulgarian Army with a Documented Order to the Commander of the unit, a Lieutenant Colonel, for exemplary service in 1941-2, including assisting the German crossing of the Danube in their push down through Bulgaria southward.
