Soviet uniforms in the movies

One of the suppliers to Hollywood is selling some old clothing items used in the movies.

One of the items is this Soviet uniform, which was used in 1943 movie Mission to Moscow (I've never seen the actual movie, have you?).

They sell the set as:

"Russian Officers Jacket and Dress Hat from the movie 'MISSION TO MOSCOW' (1943) that starred Walter Huston, Ann Harding, Cyd Charisse and many, many more. This Officer's jacket was worn by BORGE CARLOS. His name is on two of the labels that are in the jacket. "

To me this outfit looks totally wrong, but how many Americans had a chance to see real Soviet uniform back in 1943?

I saw some of the uniforms that were used in filming "Dr Zhivago" and several other period movies a few years ago at a show in California. They were interesting, to say the least, but had HUGE mothing problems. :( I almost bought one, but when I discovered it was only about 90% there (the rest eaten by moths) I passed!
