Soviet parade airforce cap

Hi,
I have a question about a Soviet parade airforce cap.
It has a a label inside from a factory in Odessa and is dated 1991.
It is not new, it shows it has been used.
But it has a yellow chincord. Is this correct or should it be a gold colored ?
Thanks,
TVD

Yellow chincords are usually for fakes or modern caps. Yours should be golden, made of metallic thread.

Hey,

I want to say fake, although it could just be a crumby cord, I don't like the looks of that diamond.

I have seen caps with such diamond before with the correct cord.

It seems like an okay cap to me, that is for a late production near fall of the empire cap. The use of such material for band and diamond are common for 1991.

It maybe a cap that was produced in 1991 but latter finished with correct badges and buttons. They seem to have just taken the cord that was at hand.

I would not worrie to much about this cap.

Maybe it is good practise to check the buttons on dates.

If you remove the cord gently and try to look under the buttons for markings.
They should be marked with a 2 digit number, that stands for the production year.
