Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

Comrade I.S Makarov has actively participated in combat operations since 11.08.43 in fighting for the village of Nasonovo where he and his squad were one of the first to charge into an anti-tank ditch and then into Nasonovo. He and his platoon participated in the attack on the village of Suglitsa. He was wounded near Suglitsa.

On active duty in the Red Army since 1942, he participated in fighting and was wounded. He was awarded the Bravery Medal. He was twice sent on sniper internships in the 13th Guards Order of Lenin Twice Red Banner Order of Suvorov Poltava Rifle Division defensive belt during the period 15-30.9.44. Comrade Makarov killed 13 German soldiers and officers. To his tally he has 29 killed German invaders.

For bravery and valor displayed in the destruction of German soldiers and officers he is deserving of the Order of Glory III Class.

Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

In the Patriotic War since 1942, he participated in the 199th Rifle Division’s fighting near Elnya until being wounded.

In September, 1944 he killed 15 enemy soldiers with his sniper rifle while on sniper internship.

He has done well in military-chekist service and has made a series of valuable arrests.

In January, 1945 when encountering a group of enemy soldiers near Chenstokhov he and his squad acted boldly and decisively, killing five enemy soldiers and one officer attempting to hide in a forest.

For combat actions against the German invaders, for participation in combat sniper internship, and for the destruction of 20 enemy soldiers and one officer, Sergeant Makarov is deserving of the Order of Glory II Class.
