Officially dissolved 25th February 2014.

Sorry, I'm being unclear. I meant that the recipient in green and the recipient in blue are both Berkut?
Very interesting, overall. I'd love to see a close-up of the medal. I wonder how long it will be before the counterfeiters begin throwing those around! |

I think it's regular army.
As for ministerial awards (and some federal) of the Russian Federation, they are made by contract and there are often hundreds or thousands of correctly produced (by the correct manufacturers) awards produced in numbers beyond what is necessary and this surplus can often be bought up rather cheaply so there is very little need to counterfeit them. Very similar to the situation with United States awards. The original (used) paperwork is what to look out for!
