Here is a trio (and possibly a complete group) to Sergeant Ivan Jakovlevich Kamenev. A submachine-gunner of the 255th Separate Artillery Cannon Battalion during the invasion of Manchuria.

Short concrete description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
While storming the heights "Staff", "The Island", "Changeless", "Volcano" Comrade Kamenev showed himself as an example of bravery, courage and skill.
In the night of 18th - 19th August 1945 under a whirlwind of enemy fire simply held the defensive line and reflected the enemy counter-attack personally destroying 5 Japanese.

It is nice to see the groups/individuals are appreciated considerably more by airing them than hiding them away. These are all pieces in a giant jigsaw but the more pieces that are presented the great idea we have of the picture as a whole.

Researching and keeping groups together is of paramount importance for me. Unfortunately there are still hundreds of groups to post and such little free time to work on presenting them. I'll keep throwing bits up when I can.

Also this may be a good point to highlight the fact that research of non-Soviet Union Communist awards is available for many awards now - and this includes citations. My current favourite is this Medal for activity in China, Mongolia, Korea and Vietnam. There are new avenues of research and understanding opening up all the time - whilst at the same time disproving many myths.

Back to myths and this group. This is the only "shovel" that you can absolutely guarantee was for action against Japan.
