Fake Guards Badge

Is this some sort of anniversary/commemorative badge or, despite their numbers in the millions, are we faking guards badges now?

Whatever it is, it isn't Russian. On the obverse, the manufacturer used a "A" instead of the cyrillic "D" and likewise for the "N" instead of "I".

The reverse latin letters in Zhukov also show non-Russian manufacture.

Jeffrey,

WWII and early post-WWII badges are scarce now, and therefore valuable.
Guess what happens when the price tag increases :D

Based on the modern-type pin back, the simplicity of the type style and over-all "cheesy" look, I'd say it's either something targeted towards re-enactors or, perhaps, a fashion accessory. Now watch, it'll be some incredibly rare "one-off" worth thousands... of course, that would be MY luck.

Who ever made this badge, at least they spelled CCCP correctly ;)

I've seen quite a few of those Zhukov badges. I am guessing they are made in one of the ex-Socialist countries.

Alexei,

The manufacture possibly reminds me of Israeli production; at every Olympics, there is always a flood of unofficial, Israeli-made pins for a variety of countries.
