Bloodletting fleam with three steel blades that fold into a brass case. Stamped \"Borwick\" which dates this fleam sometime between 1781 to 1860. In excellent condition for its age. The fleam was used for the antiquated method of bleeding or bloodletting a patient to balance the humors. Often used by surgeons during civil war and later by veterinary.
