1893 GAR G.A.R. INDIANAPOLIS ENCAMPMENT MEDAL RIBBON Grand Army Republic :
$150.00

**This badge belonged to major Thaddeus Stevens Clarkson. The 25th commander in Chief of the GAR from 1896 to 1897. He was also the postmaster of Omaha Nebraska and voted General Manager of the Trans-mississippi Exposition. He was named after a good family friend Thaddeus Stevens who was played a major role in politics during the Civil War. His childhood home was the same place headquartered for General Robert Lee during the battle of Gettysburg. I know this belonged to Major T.S. Stevens because I purchased the collection from the family estate. Several of the medals and badges were engraved with his name.

This is a rare September 1893 GAR G.A.R. Indianapolis Encampment Medal Ribbon from the Grand Army Republic.
