A very fine four-clasp Queens South Africa Medal to a soldier who served with the 2nd Battalion of the Scots Guards during the Boer War.
QSA with clasps Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 correctly impressed to 3282 PTE. J. HARPER, SCOTS GDS:
James Harper was born in Aberdeen and enlisted with the Scots Guards in Glasgow in early 1900. He arrived in South Africa with the 2nd Battalion on 5 April, taking part in extensive fighting over the following two years.
The medal is in very fine condition on original silk ribbon. It comes with extensive research including a full copy of Harper\'s service records and medal roll extracts confirming his entitlement to the fours clasps and also confirming that he was not entitled to the Kings South Africa Medal.
