US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked "Horstmann" and on the reverse has a beehive which stands for Samuel Hoppe. The grip is a tiny bit loose if you force it, the guard and pommel wiggle a little. The horn grip has some small crackles but is complete. The twisted wire is complete. The double clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and the folding side is blank. Lock button is functional. The quillon has a lion face. The blade is straight, unsharpened, a little light pitting, and several small nicks. The scabbard is solid with small dings on the drag, and has some light pitting. The washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 32 1/8" (3/4" wide x 1/4" thick), length of the sword is 38 1/4", and in the scabbard it is 38 5/8".
