Here is a nice first edition book about a famous Civil War Union General for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!
Very nice 1st Edition book here. The book is entitled, "Life of Wm. Tecumseh Sherman, Late Retired General U.S.A.". The book was written by W Fletcher Johnson. This is a first edition book and was put out by the Edgewood Publishing Company.
The book has a gold cloth hardcover. The front and back covers are still attached to the rest of the book at the spine. Some minor wear and to the covers at the edges. The title of the book and author name is noted in impressed into the front cover of the book and the spine.
Some brown spotting on the title page due to the onion paper between the engraving of Sherman and the title page. No foxing or brown spotting. Some minor soiling in places. The book's pages are all intact, no tears, missing pages or repairs.
The books is still well bound. The hardboard covers are securely attached. No musty, tobacco, or mildewy smell.
The book is 8-1/8" tall, by 5.75" across, by 1-7/8" wide. The book is 607 pages in length. Top right of page 603 and 604 is pulled off and still attached to next page as never cut thru when originally bound. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
