I am listing both together for one price.. 1) New Testament with green stiff paper covers issued on March 6, 1941, by President Franklin D Roosevelt, as
Commander - in - Chief , to the members of the U S ARMY. Pages are clean and untorn. Only marking
is the serviceman filled in his name and address in spaces provided. Main wear is fact the
identifying title and wording on front cover has faded (see photos) Only a faint remnant of the
wording remains.
ALSO INCLUDED:2) New Testament issued by THE GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL... Called their 'vest pocket edition'
this one is the 1943 edition, and was designed for the use of the Armed Services.... a 1941
message from President Roosevelt and picture of the US flag is bound in, as shown in
photos. This New Testament also has some study references and helps, including
well-loved hymns, and lists of helpful scripturesPages have age toning, but I only see 2 tears A tear exists on front interior pastedown (see photo)
Also page 161/162 has tears, came out, and was taped back in.... gutter is wide there also (see
photo) Main wear is open gutter in middle (has a tape repair) and again towards back (may want to attempt a repair) Additionally, the exterior is very rubbed and faded... no visible title on exterior.STILL.... This is a keeper .... This Bible was USED ALOT... and the texts verifiy our
nation had a dependence on the gospel during this eraHopefully someone wishes to add these to their collection I posted lots of photos
for you to view.
