Each week I bring you vintage early radio items. I have been collecting radios, phonographs, and music boxes for 50 years, and always have something interesting for sale. Here up for offer is this very rare circa 1921 SCR-105 Radio telegraph. The SCR-105 is a transmitting and receiving quenched-spark radio set. It is used for communication of headquarters with a 5 mile range. There is a spark transmitter with telegraph key, and crystal radio receiver with crystal detector. This is the smallest spark transmitter with crystal receiver made at that time. The radio comes with an original copy of the instructions pamphlet. The thin wood front cover is missing and some knobs were replaced. I have only heard of one other SCR-105, it is quite rare. The unit measures 14.25" by 13", and is 6" deep.
