Pfc. Francis W. Scutt Jr. worked for the B. & A. Railroad Telegraph operator before the war.Enlisted in the Signal Corps on December 18, 1942. Attended radio technicians school inRoxbury. Was trained in Telephone Switchboard Operation at Camp Crowder, Maine.He spend two years in the European theatre. He was awarded the distinguished unitcitation for performing "Exceptionally difficult tasks" in installing and maintainingcommunications from March 15 to August 15, 1944. Before and During D-Day whilestationed in England!
