To be absolutely honest—I believe I saved the very best Mopsie and Popsie lot unknowingly for last. In this lot of 50 letters is contained a letter or so from Popsies Dad— giving his best fatherly advise to a son afraid that he is about to go to war. It has letters penned just after Pearl Harbor. The Angst of a Soldier finding out his girl may have stepped out on him. It also has his Selective Service letter telling him with the date he was called to report and the packet telling him how to prepare to go and what to expect upon arrive. It also has the typewritten newsletter (complete with hand drawn cartoons and back page local beach pin up girl) for Brooks Airfield 1942— and Popsies drivers license.

A real piece of history— don’t miss out on this one!!!!!

This vintage lot of 50 WWII homefront letters contains a glimpse into the life of a private soldier in 1942. The letters are addressed to his fiancé and offer a unique perspective on the emotional struggles of being away from home during wartime. Along with the letters, the lot includes various personal records and letters, and certificates from his military career including what I think may be his draft letter?? adding to the personal touch of this collection. The items are a wonderful addition to any militaria or WWII memorabilia collection.

This love and their words are so precious.

These two lovingly called each other Mopsie and Popsie and in total, the collection that exist has over 400 letters plus their photos and various other documents. A photo from their photo album will be included with your letters. Many of the letters often include little clips from newspapers and magazines that were included back-and-forth to each other as well as little cartoons that the soldier would draw for his gal.

This is absolutely a wonderful item and you will lose yourself in reading. The stamps are still on the envelopes. You get the envelopes as well as the letters and a greeting card and photo from their personal scrapbook and there are some that are significant dates due to him actually going into the army just prior to Pearl Harbor. This is definitely a treasure. You can also check out some of the other items that I have, and with this collection of homefront pillow covers and various other items. Thank you.
