*Major Tom Woodburn (1893-1980) was the U.S. Army Editor and Director of "Recruiting News" and the artist responsible for many U.S. Army Recruiting Posters including "Wings Over America" and U.S. Army "Then Now Forever". He created his first recruiting poster in 1922. From 1929 to 1933 Woodburn was art director of the Recruiting Publicity Service and by 1936 he was in charge of that department. kbcate
