Original Service Record Book (Militarpas) for Infantry troop Emil Martel, from his induction into the German Army in 1892, his release, and then recall in WW 1.
Martel was born 7 Oct 1870, and drafted into the Army on 5 Nov 1892 for has required two years of service. He initially assigned a replacement recruit to the 7th Company of the 103 Infantry Regiment. After his two year term of service he was assigned to the Landstrum (similar to the National Guard) 63rd Brigade. His record was rewritten / duplicated when he was recalled for WW1 in 1915, and passed through the 103rd Recruit Depot. By that time, he was 46years old (quite old for military front line service), and likely relegated to rear area duties.
This is only a snapshot of Martel's military experience. Much more detail is in his record. Own a nice piece of history that moves from Fotel's hands into yours.
