You are offerding on an EXCELLENT reproduction example of a WW1 German Boot Knife / Combat Trench Knife! It comes complete with the original scabbard!

As bayonets were typically long and heavy, some soldiers ended up privately purchasing various styles of hunting knives. Throughout WW1, numerous manufactures produced these types of knives, available for both private purchase and military issue.

Made of wood and steel, this REPRODUCTION WW1 German Combat Fighting Knife is in VERY NICE condition considering its age. The blade does show some marks and wear, but remains in ORIGINALcondition with some slight sharpening. The scabbard is original to this knife, but it does feature some marks and wear.Also, all the original finish is gone (needs to be repainted). Blade features an Imperial Crown one side; and the makers markGottlieb Hammesfahr on the other. Probably made in India in the 1960s. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
