1st Infantry Division Patched Ike Jacket


Patched as seen in photos, First Infantry Division, Corporal, Meritorious Unit Citation. The Corporal chevrons are the type worn post 1948, making this an occupation era uniform. If you added a period ribbon bar, this coat could be a really attractive piece! It was modified sometime in the early 1950s to be more convenient to wear, sporting an original zipper modification made in Nuremberg Germany. The cap is also laundry stamped, so this could make a great research project. The only drawback is from mothing, with a couple larger holes on the front pocket area and scattered mothing all around. It also includes an Artillery Piped Garrison Cap, size 7, dated June 1951.


The Big Red One (First Infantry Division) played a key role in the occupation of Germany from 1946-1955, and helped to rebuild the country post ww2.
