***Pilot was initially assigned to VP 71 in 1941. Transferred to VP 54 on 5 December 1942 -

this is according to a list of accomplishments listed in letter to the Dept of Defense asking for reserve status after the war-NOT FOR SALE

4. 3 page letter home dated Wednesday June 3, 1942


5. Undated photo of author of letter with other pilots.


The photo has the author of the letter PBY pilot with other PBY pilots.


**The pilot is kneeling on the front row, the second from left. Black hair.


No writing or indication as to where it was taken.

However there is another copy of photo (other copy not for sale) that has “VP 54 Guadalcanal 1943” written on the back.
