Up for sale is a pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1886 Lebel Rifle Bayonet with Scabbard. The bayonet and scabbard serial numbers appear match. The serial number on the bayonet is extremely faint, but appears to be the same as on the scabbard, see photos. There are French proof marks on the cross guard. The blade bright, it has some minor finish wear and some small areas of discoloration. This is the original long blade. The white metal handles are in very nice condition, some minor scratches and handling marks. The handle appears to have been polished. It has the early original design round release button. The release button functions properly. The scabbard is in Very Nice Condition. Blue finish with only very minor wear. Some minor spots of surface pitting and a few very minor dings. Please see photos for condition and details.
