4-star general
#1
4-star general on eBay. Buttons dated 1965, ideas on if the uniform is authentic (the jacket primarily, I dont know about the ribbons, a WW2 veteran anyway).

Would be nice in the collection though, since I missed the last 4-star general uniform that was offered to me

I can not see anything wrong with it.....looks nice, interesting way of doing the ribbons....probably able to figure out who it is with some work as 4 stars were pretty rare.

Ended at 411 USD. Not that bad, but not my bid either :(

Actually, it ended at more than that because I bid more than that. Ah well... :D A good deal if it was righteous. Unfortunately, he wasn't a HSU, so it makes it a little difficult to research him.

Yes, sorry, it was 421,50. My error :o

It was a nice tunic, but talking ribbons in order to identify owner, if you look closer on the ribbons pic, you will find that it contains 2 medals "For development of virgin lands". Perhaps a devoted farmer? :D

I'd be surprised if they were the original medal ribbons. I thought all general officers' medal ribbons were aligned in groups of four, not three as they are on the tunic.

There was no real standard of how generals and admirals wore ribbons. As a general, you had a huge amount of leeway.

The way these ribbons are done, is kind of odd; a good sign i think, not like most fakes I have seen. I am 70% or so convinced they are real and his ( whoever he is). The buyer should be patient and research it. Its a good project, as the value would really go up with a positive ID.
