Admiral Ushanka

The cap below is indeed sold at 100 USD and the badge at 10 USD. However, if you cannot see the differences between those and authentic cap and authentic badge, there is no reason to discuss this matter any further.
My russian-ukrainian stores can do better than that. By the way economical version of hat in question is also available. I hope it will gain your approval when presented to this forum

Tretov Wrote:If you look at the picture on this page, you can see two admirals in white caps. The one on the left wears a parade cap with a large cockade and the one on the right has the service cap with the smaller cockade. All-metal badges were for officers.

There are two choices basically, the large one (for parade wear on caps and the wool cap with visor, for example) and the small one for service/daily wear. Question is then, what was the purpose of this ushanka. Both are embroidered with some metal part in the middle.

Please apply you theory to this.

They are sure mighty fine caps, but I cannot see how they would be related.

The first two are Russian, with different visor embroidery from the Soviet caps (which would make it useless to switch the badges). The third I don't know what it is - sorry. The last one has felt top - which the one posted by Jupan does clearly not have.

Sure. He is wearing a service cap (attached is the same type of cap in white and black) with the parade uniform, thus not following the regulations.... which supports the theory that regulations were certainly not followed at all times.

They are available in all shapes and colors. Black, brown, grey.

P.S.And you have too many theories to support.

So far I have spent much time explaining to you even the simplest things, for example why there were two different cap badges for admiral caps.

As for my theories, my point in this thread is that non-regulation items did exist and that is actually more of a fact than a theory presented by me.
As a parallell, here is a thread where, for example, non-regulation ties for ambassadors are discussed - http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...nia-6.html

You are free to have your opinion ("what is not in the regulations does not exist") and I respectfully disagree with you. I don't think there is any point arguing any further.

OK, I think both sides have had their say. Although the thread has not gotten beyond good manners, it is headed in that direction, so I am going to close it down for now.
