Cap fakers are getting a bit better...

I found this on everyone's favorite online auction site. The seller describes it as "New Soviet Army General Uniform Visor Hat. Replica". At least he acknowledges it's not original.

Still, I'm impressed by the higher quality than the usual fake general cap you see. If I were new at cap collecting it would have definitely fooled me! Seems like fakers are putting a little more into construction quality these days...

It is not really a fake, it is rather a high quality fantasy piece. But, having said that, the colour combo is beautiful in my opinion, maroon red and white! :chuckle Notice that the side buttons are officer type. The embroidery reminds me of the present day Ukrainan.

I've seen this kicking around!

I've also seen a couple of naval caps from the same seller which also bear the same quality as the cap shown above, but I don't know if it was just a modern Russian navy cap or a fantasy item.
