Captured And Repurposed Paper
#11
Here is an example of paper captured from Slovakia. I've had this a few years but not really paid much attention.

A citation of the 226th Rifle Division.

Auke Wrote:That irony could very well have been the purpose. I have seen quite a few citations on German, Czech, and even Chinese paper, like the citation below. I can't imagine the Red Army was that low on paper that they had to resort to procuring paper locally.

This one seems super interesting, signed by a Mongolian Army officer..any chance you could post the entire citation?

I researched this for somebody else, so I'd rather not post it here. It's the citation of a 500K Glory 3rd Class awarded to a Khalkha Mongolian Tsirik (Private). The citation was signed by General Issa Pliyev in his capacity as Commander in Chief of the Soviet forces in Mongolia.

If the citation is on "the site" you could just provide a link. Mind you some of those later awards are taking their time showing up.... but are coming - slowly but surely.

Since we're on the subject of foreign paper, this is a prikaz printed on a captured document from the German 3rd Mountain Division:

Here's a message the Germans never received. It awarded a Red Banner after being captured by the 6th Army in 1943.
