Not to offend anyone, but I thought the title is totally irrelevant:

"These medals were from Joseph Stalin's personal collection. They were part of a collection of a number of items that were from a lady living in Belarus named Olga Golak. Her husband was a close acquaintance with Joseph Stalin. The collection contained a book personally inscribed to Mr. Golak, a high ranking official in the Communist Party, from Mr. Stalin. The book was dated 20, Nov, 1947. These medals were given to her husband in the early 1960's after Mr. Stalin's death. They were given to him by family members that had know him during the earlier years. The book had been sold earlier.
The book and medals were obtained by a Mr. R. G. Mulhern in the 1980's. She sold the items to him. There is a letter from R.G. Mulhern explaining all of these details that was notarized in March of 1999, in San DIego. I purchased this item from Todd Mueller Autographs, an extremely reputable dealer. These items must be very verifiable, if they were purchased from this dealer. The pictures are included of the medals. The bronze colored medal has a picture of Nicholas Romanov and was issued in 1913 for the 300th anniversary of the Romanov Dynasty. The other silver colored medal also has a picture of Nicholas Romanov and has a serial number on the back and other Russian writing. The other medal has Russian on one side and something about France on the back. It may have been issued to commemorate the Russian- French alliance from World War I, but I don't know.
These items are amazing, as they were in the possession of one of the most powerful people in the 20th Century. Joseph Stalin was one of the most influential people in world history from 1913-1950. He built the Soviet Union and with it changed world history forever. An unbelievable part of history for any collector of Soviet or world history.
The folder with the letter comes from the French Company, which I am assuming is who Mr. Mulhern either worked for or sold them to, originally. I am selling these, as I have no room to display them (got married!)."
Under the banner of Marxism-Leninism, under the leadership of the Communist Party--forward to new victories in the construction of communism!
Thanks for the good laugh! I really needed that today. According to people who knew Stalin, he had never collected anything, except for pictures of children when he became elderly. The man was tottally against any material posessions, and just the thought that he might have collected medals is ridiculous!
