From the description:

REALLY UNIQUE ITEM!
I'm proud to present You 100% authentic Order Of Ekaterina II awarded to Saddam Hussein.
As You can see on photos this order has been awarded by Cossacs (ukrainian semi military organisation).
At the very beginning of USA intervention to Iraq Ukrainian Cossacs as an act of support made desicion to award Saddam Hussein by this order. According to my information Saddam has never received it, yet this a true historical gem for real collector.

BTW, the price of Saddam's award is very reasonable, only $3,000.00 :laff:chuckle:laff

It's amazing what you can pull off with an unofficial Cossack award and computer printer. Nice touch written in English instead of Arabic. I don't know whether that's a commentary on Cossacks, English speakers, or Ebay purchasers?Smile

I contacted the seller of the above item, inquired into where they had found such an odd "rare" specimen.:laff
That is so wrong in so many ways.
I wonder how much they want for this 1935 variation of a 1985 award?

I believe the starting price is $49.99, with $5 shipping. Best price I've seen yet!:laff
Description of the Star

Russian infantry hat emblem from WWII. Silver with serial number 665807E

Ok, so I was struck by the number given. Looking at the picture, I realized that they read it upside down.

Seems we have a "new" Aussi medal seller on Eb?y.

Selling parts of "his father's collection"

Interestingly enough, he is selling a set of 4 awards to one person. I say interesting since the award book, filled out in 1944, lists in order:

ORS #95.172
OPW1 #92.267
??? #8.813
ORS #124.675
BM #278.206

ok, so looking through Paul's "EOW", the two ORS' were before 1944 as well as the BM. The book has a washed out look to it as well as the document for Belgrade.

Someone needs to throw this guy on the barbi!

By the way, he is selling the OPW1 separately (for some reason) without the document.

Oh, and one last thing. Why not put an authentic WW2 Guardia badge in with the lot instead of the one pictured?

Hi Jeff,

It is the Order of Alexander Nevski.

Cheers.

Ch.
Your right, and with that number, Paul's book would put it late 1944, AFTER most of the others.

Gee, you would think that if they were going to put these things together, they would do just a bit of research.
