He's supposed to be in Germany... Now, how close to the Polish border is another matter Big Grin

I've done some deals knowingly where the item went for pennies but the postage was huge. Ok with me as long as the total works out. Advantage for them is that the final value fee they have to pay is very low on a 99 cent item with a 50 dollar postage compared to a 45 dollar item with a 5 dollar postage so it increases their profit margin.

Jeff,

eBay now calculates FVF on the total cost for the buyer:

How is the final value fee calculated?
The final value fee calculation varies by selling format:

Auction-style listings: The final value fee is based on a percentage of the item's total cost to the buyer. The item's total cost to the buyer includes item price and shipping costs plus any other costs to the buyer (less any sales tax). Any shipping discounts are not included in the final value fee calculation.

So, the Ukrainans and Russians selling medals at 1 USD with 45 USD shipping does not gain anything fee-vise, but they surely trick some happy trigger bidders.

All such excessive postage auctions should be reported.
Didn't know that about the way ebay calculates now (and I'm sure the folks in the ukraine didn't either). When i sell, i just charge the real postage so didn't notice admidst the shower of fees.
I once got charged $87 for something that actually cost $13 to post but what I got was so cheap (and in such a high quantity) that I was still quids in and even bought the rest of the sellers stock. Yeah the postage was not pleasant but if in total you spent $100 including postage and the items but they are worth $400 in the end you're not doing too bad whereas if you buy something worth $10 for $5 and then pay $30 postage you might as well just burn the money.

Soviet Army College Dagger For Sino-soviet Relations

:laff :laff:laff
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

Especially considering both countries have been major rivals on one account or another since the 1960s (1970s officially).

If there are any Sino-Soviet relations, they will be handled first and foremost by the SVR and smiling faces with daggers behind the back.Rolleyes
