Hi! This is a Defense of Polar Region award certificate that I received together with This medal. In the past, I had some bad experience with the booklet for this particular award. I really hope this one is the good one.
Felt-tip pens (or what looks like them now) and faded stamps make me a little nervous, but with the resolution so high, you can see that the marks are as old as the paper. I can understand why Alexei likes your scans.:thumbsup
Good and useful points gentlemen. I'm going to be looking at a lot of documents tonight with the magnifier.:)

Alexei, this brings up a question I've had for many years. Were all of the stamps used by the Soviets on documents (any kind) metal, or were some in fact rubber? I've only seen the metal ones and they tend to last indefinitely if treated well (not dropped).
Nota Bene Wrote:They were made of hard rubber. Here's a couple of pieces from my collection.

Ah, those stamps. I was thinking about the circular seals. English "stamp" and "seal" get mixed up often when talking about Soviet inking (at least in my head;)).
Very cool pieces from your collection. Thankfully, you are one of the "good guys" who can be trusted with those.:thumbsup
