Here's some examples of the same type (T2) Udosteverenie K Medali from Andrew's wonderful site: УДОСТОВЕРЕНИЕ К МЕДАЛИ - 2
Nothing blatanly wrong jumps out at me....but I'm only just starting to get to know Soviet documents.
Hope we can get some more opinions. :)

OK, let's clarify things here. There were different scribes having their own handwriting; what I have not seen yet is one booklet being filled by 2 different scribes (I am NOT talking about further awards being added in later).
The 53 type, dated 55 seems to have 2 different writers.
And it seems that while Brendans medals, while so close in number, have different rings. That's weird. But they both are so nearly identical in wear: patina, suspension and how the ribbons is folded about the suspension make them look like twins if not for the rings.
Brendan, when ya get a chance can ya post comparisons of the numbers please? I'm assuming they are gonna be identical (as well as to how they're struck).
So I'm wondering how different variations are so closely numbered? Were they different batches, or even from different mints that got sent somewhere else to get numbered? I always assumed they were numbered where they were minted.

I think the mix between tongue and ring for the "ear" is normal. I have also seen it in these high number ranges. I have at least one tongue in the midst of a close block of otherwise normal rings. I doubt that great care was taken to keep the two types segregated. You'll see the same thing with CSMs where you can find the two ear types interspersed in a given block of numbers. Look at the series of numbers I posted in #6 above to see that tongue stranded in a group of rings.
Even if you dudes are right that the doc is bad (but I think it's good), I have no doubts about the actual medals so far.
If you own this group, why not research one of those good medals to see what comes up? At worst, you'll have a researched BM; at best, you'll have a documented group. If you do it this way, you'd maybe need to ignore the doc for research purposes, going in with number alone. That would eliminate Alexei for the research, so you'd need to go to the less reliable vendors out there. Those results could take months or even years to come back. Does anyone know of another researcher who can do numbers only and come back in six months or less consistantly?

I've seen the ring differences in the CSM's but this is a first for me in the BMs with serial numbers so close.
Unfortunately I can't ignore the document. I am going to give Alexei the name and numbers and see what happens. At least Ill have some result in around 6 weeks not 6 years;)
I'm still uncertain about the entries but there is no other way than to have it researched in either of the formats name or number.
Brendan
by the name can anyone translate the name please?
thanks
